Export-Related Seminars and Networking

There are a number of differences between doing business in Canada and doing business abroad. A key to your learning process will be talks and seminars where you can both gain information and network with persons familiar with the markets you are considering. Take advantage of the many events sponsored by your industry association, the Bilateral Trade Councils, the Boards of Trade and Chambers of Commerce around the province, as well as those provided by TradeStart. You can find information about many of these activities on the events calendars of the Canada Export Centre, Trade Team BC, the Vancouver Board of Trade, and the Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre. In addition, think about who you already know who could be a resource and take them to lunch.
