Deciding to Export

Bidding on International Development Projects

A range of international governmental organizations – such as the World Bank, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Asian Development Bank, and the Inter-American Development Bank – award contracts for work in developing and transitional economies. The Canadian government has trade officers affiliated with each of these organizations who can be helpful to Canadian exporters.

The Canadian Trade Commissioner Service also has an International Financing Information Network (IFINet) where you can get assistance with:

  • How to supply your goods and services to development and humanitarian projects
  • Where to find project financing and guarantees for your investments in developing and transition economies
  • How companies thrive in this market
  • Who in the Trade Commissioner Service can support your efforts
